WORKSHOP 1
AI That You Can Use at Work Right Now!!

This is a 3-hour Masterclass with long-time LTIC friend and innovation mentor, Graeme Grovum. Following last year’s hit session, Graeme is back to introduce inhouse counsel to some of the possibilities that AI has to offer our practice.

The session gives participants the opportunity to follow along with Graeme as he demonstrates use cases that generative AI is making possible. These include:

  1. See how Microsoft has implemented GPT MS 365 products as 'Copilot' (Word, PowerPoint, Power Apps, Power Automate, etc
  2. See how to safely and effectively use ChatGPT as a technical assistant to work like a pro
  3. See how to use ChatGPT plugins together to stack responses on each other

There’ll be time to share ideas for implementing innovation at the end of the session, as well as the option of a supplementary “Geek Out” in the weeks after the masterclass, to learn more about how in-housers have used Graeme’s tools in practice.

(Note: Participants may need to download a subscription to ChatGPT prior to the event, if they don’t already hold an account.)

Graeme Grovum

Head of Technology and Client Solutions
Allens Linklaters

Biography

I am a legal technologist who leverages deep understanding of legal process and love of new technologies to deliver exceptional results in novel ways.

I lead Arrow Direct, Allens' service line for clients running their own matters who need technology, consulting, and/or review support. During my 20 years in the legal and financial services industries I have worked with 100s of local and international clients on large-scale discovery matters and digital transformation projects, focused on improving client outcomes through process improvement and the thoughtful application of technology. For example, to address an issue routinely confronting many of my ediscovery clients, I devised and patented a computer implemented method of assessing the searchability of electronic documents.

I regularly speak about digital transformation for the legal industry at conferences such as the IBA Annual Conference, the ACC Annual Conference, and the Law Society of NSW FLIP Conference. My work has been recognised in the Legal Innovation Index and by the Financial Times’ Asia-Pacific Innovative Lawyer Awards.

WORKSHOP 2
INTERACTIVE CRISIS MANAGEMENT DRILL:  CYBER AND OTHER ATTACKS

When responding to a cyber attack or other major incident, the pressure to react immediately is acute and there is very little time to reflect or plan.

A comprehensive, approved action plan, tested through regular drills involving your board and key personnel, are critical to your organisation’s effective response and recovery.  This is particularly so for cyber attacks or data breaches where the ability to operate may be severely impacted and the consequences of failing to do so serious.

LK Principals, Brooke Hall-Carney and Amy Cooper-Boast will lead an interactive cyber drill focused on key risk and legal issues.  They will explore critical issues that your organisation and its board need to prepare for and address in anticipation of a major incident, and which should form part of an organisations’ crisis response plan, including insurance, payment of ransom, communication, notifications, brand impact, director’s duties and what happens after the event.

With legislative reform increasing the personal risk of executives and Boards for cyber incidents, this interactive drill will give you an opportunity to assess your organisation’s readiness to prepare, prevent, respond and recover in the event of a cyber attack.
